Default engine removal/refitting

hi is there a thread on removing a wrx classic engine?tryed searching but cant find one.took out engines before but mainly vauxhalls just needing any things to look out for when i pull mine next week.cheers.

Fairly straight forward, just need to remember you need a M6 bolt to release the clutch fork!

As above it's easy, but many get caught out by the clutch fork release pin.

i can thread the bolt from battery holder as thats a long m6?

If its an m6 I don't see why not, I just bought a bolt for 60p from the local shop lol

Yep.

Be warned that you need an m10 (IIRC) allen key socket as well, as the cover can be *REALLY* tight. I had to use my long breaker bar to get it off on both my cars.

Take your time and think "do I really need to take this part off" Subaru classic engines are one of the easiest to take out. The aircon can be tucked out of the way so can the PAS assembly once unbolted. Apply some heat to clutch fork cover eases removal.

yeah going to invest in a haynes manual!i started taking pictures and labelling wires! i have no air con or abs so 2 less things to worry about!
