Paint problem
I have just noticed on my recently bought silver MY00 that there is a 2cm square of, what I can only describe as a 'smudge' on the rear door. It looks as if the previous owner tried to T-Cut a scratch and has succeeded in removing the lacquer and marked the paint.
Any suggestions how to remedy this, or any paint shops/body shops in S Wales or the West who could, (for a good price), as a couple of places I have tried are quoting in the region of £180??

I have a friend who is a good sprayer and may respray the door for slightly less.....best to see the repair first and take it from there.
He's based in Pengam...give me a shout if you'd like him to give you a quote.

Either that or try some of Mark's (Wax Wizzard) stuff.
if it's not 'too bad' then it could/should get rid of most of it - it did wonders for my paint that had been scratched quite badly by rubbish polish & horrible cloths.
sounds like the same sort of thing - kind of looks like some one has taken sand paper to the paint ??? !!!
The paint on our beloved Scoob's is V.V. soft - so be careful what kind of polish etc u use !!

Steve,
Were the scratches visible when looking at the car directly, or did you have to look at it under light from certain angles to be able to see the scratches?
It's just I have a few on my other car, but they are only visible under light, such as street lights from certain angles only.
Cheers,
Wrexy.
