Default Hole in block!!

Ive gained a hole in my block (forged ej257). Im wondering if you guys could point me in the direction of whats happened.
The hole is above the allen key to get to the grudgen pin for the piston. If your stood looking at the engine it is on the passenger side. ( ill try and get a picture on).
After it happened i started the car for a second expecting to here a rattle from somewhere but there wasnt a rattle in it but it is down a cylinder.
Any help would be great
Thanks

Thought about that. Wasnt driving hard when it went was just coming in to boost 1.6 bar if i can remember right.

If it had snapped a rod wouldnt it of rattled like mad when i started it after?

Depends how it's snapped i suppose, If it's left the most of it on the piston at the top of the stroke then it will be away from the moving crank so it wont move (only my thoughts).
It sounds like it needs stripping down for sure though,

Good luck

ps, I have blown a few gearboxes comming on boost, Things seem to go pop when the torque starts mounting.

Big end cap parted/rod bolt sheared or a gudgeon pin circlip has come adrift and the gudgeon pin has come out of the piston.
Full strip down im afraid.

Grudgeon Pin came out on my forged 2.0 thats why i did the ej257. That groved the bore and made it sound like a bottom end knock.

Looks like a rod bolt has punched through the block, quite likely No.1 on the opposite cylinder to where the hole is.

Going to try and get it out soon and have a look.
It was down on the cylinder closest if that makes any odds.
Anyone know of any forged blocks going cheap? looks like i need one : (
