Default which oil

right call me stupid but just came to top up my oil and pulled 2 half used 10w60 tubs down one will be that but other will be cheap 10w40 semi-syn any ideas how to tell the difference

sarcastic comments also welcome

Not good to mix oil, best to carry out full change if low and you not sure what you have in it already.

it has the 10/60 out of one of the tubs but i would of used a empty tub of the same type oil to bring oil back from work for a lesser car but moved house so not sure witch is which lol gonna do a run test down a plank of wood i think

Smell it. The oils have a different distinctive smell. But can't explain it but it is a different smell.

haha funny i did think this lol and they do smell different lol...... are we a little weird?

They may smell different but it still doesn't tell you which is which!

Put a drop of each into glass jars and give 'em a shake (pop them in the fridge for an hour to get them cold?)
