Exedy Carbon Twin Plate Problem on 5 speed
Hi
Basically me and my mate just fitted a Exedy twin plate to his 5 speed Type R box & now we're having a few issues. Firstly the biting point is way too low, secondly selecting gears is difficult, almost like forcing it in. Lastly the car moves forward a bit with the clutch pressed????
The clutch is brand new, it was alighned, torqued etc. Worst case scenario would be pressure plate but thats out of question as the clutch is new.
Isit worth adjusting the clutch pedal, or have we done something totally stupid?
Help appreciated
Kas

Just when you push the clutch pedal down then the bearing releases for it to engage gear, but you say it's hard to put in gear and when it does the car moves slightly, sounds like the bearing is not lifting fully. As to why I said it maybe not fitted correctly but as shack said, it's been checked and ok, so I don't know from here.
Was it ok before?

Trying to think of other causes
Can you take the rubber boot of from around the fork and see that the release bearing is on the pressure plate correctly and when someone operates the clutch pedal that it moves squarely.
Did you get fitting instructions with the kit and is there anything about adjustment after fitting?

The first thing to do is bleed the clutch, once that is done adjust the pedal. It's normal to have to adjust it for a new clutch especially when changing from a normal one to a twin plate.

I had same problem on mine & pedal adjustment fixed it, bit fiddly but only takes about 5 or 10 minutes. I'm sure this will fix it, let us know how it goes.
