Default Standard exhaust size

Hope this is in the right section , I've tried searching but still unclear.

Looking to buy a decat downpipe and keep the secondary cat, the dp I'm looking at is 2.5inch, will it mate straight to the factory exhaust ?

Thanks in advance , Chris :-)

Might as well
Loose both cats and fit a sports cat or just keep them for mot time

What year is the car?

If its a newage wrx/sti as far as i know there is only the prodrive sports cat that you can fit that will retain the secondary cat, As most aftermarket decat downpipes are the same length as the 1st and 2nd cats put together, So it would mean you would have to remove the 2nd cat to make it fit.

Whys that, was under the impression if you decat the downpipe the second cat will pass the mot ? And the first cat is the restrictive one ?

It's 2003/ 53, scoobyworld offer a package that remove the first car but retain the second.. And what I'm looking at is the same ? I think ...
