Default power steering question

hi all
could i have some help please ? should the power steering pulley stop when you turn the steering wheel ? my car is suffering with morning sickness and i wondered if its the belt or the pump
cheers

i just thought it had a new timing belt fitted before i brought it

No the pulley should not stop when you turn the wheel.
The timing belt has nothing to do with the power steering as it has its own separate belt.
The issue is more than likely the pump or the system is low on fluid, have you checked it?

If the belt is slipping would the pulley stop As I don't know . or would the pulley turn if the belt was not connected ?
