Throttle body change. Unknown pipe

Throttle body change. Unknown pipe
Hi guys
Got around to replacing my throttle body today as fault code for sensor was coming up.
Before I replaced I noticed at the top of the one I was putting in was a pipe
Mine does not gave this but does have a spot where it looks like one was.
Could anyone shed some light on as to where it goes to and wht it does. Have been told that its fuel purge.
My car is a 96 jdm wrx sti red top
