Rear Main Seal
Finally had it with my leaky classic sport with a rattley bottom end so it's time to fit my new engine at the weekend after failed attempts to sort the leak.
New engine has done 72k and was just wondering if it's worth replacing the rear crank seal as I've had problems with this before with different people telling me that it should be flush/tapped in slightly. (Scoobyclinic say it should be 0.5mm tapped in so I would be inclined to go with them). It has had no oil leaks previously apparently.
At the same time I'm going to put my new metal seperator cover on and also take the rocker cover gaskets off and make sure they are sound. Is there anything else I could do whilst the engine is out to try and prevent future leaks?
Thanks,
Jamie
