Default Seatbelt return,or not...

The seatbelt in my blobeye when taken off returns very slowly and sometimes hardly at all meanin I have to feed it back Into the door pillar or it gets trapped in the door when closing it. It's done this for as long as I can remember but im gettin fed up of it now an wondering does it happen in them all, a common fault if you like or could I get it sorted with a replacement part. Not the biggest problem you can have but still,... anyone else have it? Cheers all

I asked this question about a year ago.

Apparently, you can tension the spring, but it's NOT easy and hardly worth the hassle.

Mine doesnt do that but it tends to do an annoying squeek when pulled to put it on, but when u look at whats making the noise it appears to be where the belt comes through the plastic triangular part if you know where i mean.

Mine does or did both the problems above, annoying to slam the belt in the door, as for the squeak its an easy fix, there's a guide for it on here, one of the first things I did to mine, my next issues are the dashboard rattles.

So it would seem buying a used or even new seatbelt unit probably wouldnt sort it. An the tensioner isnt an easy fix. Ha ye the rattles!? I need to get someone to drive mine while I crawl around it with shims of card or bits of foam! The interior light seems to be a big one. Only so many times I can jab it before it breaks!

Ah I haven't tried the light, yeah better with a mate to help quite dangerous by yourself prodding down at the passenger door card whilst driving

Take the door pillar trim off and cut the ribs on the inside out with a Stanley knife, also vacuum out the belt mechanism to remove the fluff!
