piston/engine????

Default piston/engine????

Hello can someone help? my rb5 has low comp on number 4 cylinder so engine is coming but i have got another engine that had ware on a bigend bearing that i got for nothing and i dont no what ej20 engine it is so i have stripped he down so things i have found out ,she is closed deck,has silver cam covers with 4 cam 16 v etc righting on both covers with only one bolt hole beside the plug hole and also the old tensioner i am pritty sure its a ej20g pics to folow.

I also no it is not forged pistons and all i really need to no is if i use this block can i use my crank rods and use theez pistons (if its my piston thats rong with my ej205) and can i use the ej205 heads with theez pistons or are the ! i think ej20g! heads better or vise versa ???

Its a Version 1~2 in the pictures with dogbone pistons - not much use if you're looking for bits to repair the RB5 as they use HB twin dot pistons and a rear thrust Phase 2 block.
The CDB would be worth keeping/selling to fund the repairs.

Bit of a "ghetto" manual cam belt tensioner fitted to the block too.

Whats the rear thrust? not to sure what it is ? i no the pistons are diffrent i hoped i could mix and match if their was anny advances,,but with now shells,seals etc HAHA i thats some tensioner two ten mill bolts haha

ok i get it now ,crank is diffrent etc ohh well it will be up for sale if anyone wants.

Infact i will just have to wait untill i take out the rb5, hart as she has had a two engines that i now of in her life and i will never not untill shes apart whats really in her.

if it is a closed deck block and you got it for free, then you did well as even as it is it will fetch 300 odd quid.

Hear they are i have whole engine apart from manis and big end had some small play but shells were still whole. Are the heads any use ?

Quite common to det a ring land away - could well be MAF related.
