Default Wing mirror issue

Hi,

I've got an import classic STI.

I clipped my wing mirror today whilst driving and upon inspection the entire thing was now swinging freely either way, i.e. not locking into open position. So I went to the other mirror which was locked out fine to check the difference and folded that one back to see how that one reacted...well, now that one is the same too

Am I missing something? They just won't lock into place now and are both free to swing around?!

Thanks for any assistance.

Do both mirrors move through 180°?

I haven't tried tbh. You mean like pushing the mirrors forward toward the bonnet direction too?

I've done this with a Vauxhall a while back and the fact you've got the same situation on the passenger side it must be worth trying , especially on the passenger side first.
Good luck!

Hold the mirror in the correct position with one hand , and give it a sharp clack with the other hand back into position
