No such thing as a 2.5 twin turbo engine. the legacy B4 engine is a 2 litre twin turbo

280hp from the factory in manual trim

Yeah a lot of people think they are 2.5 . Unless in was converted its a 2.0litre.

Have a look underneath the altenator if it says EJ20 in the block it a 2litre , EJ25 is a 2.5

Also will need the legacy loom ecu , down pipes etc etc so not worth it, you need an impreza engine from a similar year car

Can't be a sti and rb5, rb5 is based on a uk2000, they are Grey in colour. Have a different spoiler and interior trim, alloys was different too. Sti would be a jap import. So
Look for the rear wiper? Does it have rear fog lights? Clocks been changed from kms to mph? Best thing is too look at the log book (v5) and post some photos, imprezas had loads of different ecu's and engine changes.
Best start would be to work out what you have.
