Default Compression test query...

I did a compression test today, cold engine and a pretty good battery. both cyls on passengerside where 140psi, driverside was 140psi on the one nearest the turbo and 117 on the other. The engine has failed a sniff test. so is this lower pressure cyl, number 4 i think the problem? the engine is near on 170k now so how do these numbers look?

im on the lookout for a replacement as i cant afford a rebuild at the moment so looking for options on what will fit in. got a possible nice unit from a 1995/1996 rebuilt with sti3 heads, forged etc, will it go in easy? what are my options?

Cheers and thanks for any responses

Rich
