Default 1995 v2 v limited paint code

hi all i am repainting wrx 1995 v limited paint code 53c direct 2k gloss.the paint code is a dark blue but the car is a lighter blue.the engine bay is dark blue.i have looked at other v limiteds for sale and the mcrae website.they are all the same as mine????53c only has one shade.any ideas what the paint code really is.the car has not had a respray before and is an import.would really apreciate some imput as car is in primer and im ready to buy paint!thanks asap help needed.any painters out there that have had this issue???

Dont paint in 2k. Use a waterbase base then a clear coat. Where are you getting the paint? You should only use old 2k on bikes and classic cars. Are you painting the whole car?

I am a painter by trade and I woudnt use it. It's also illegal to use these days unless it's a classic or a bike build, the finish and durability it much better on the modern waterbase systems.

Sorry I should put this another way. I am not dissing 2k paints, I'm just not used them, and was taught from imi and thatcham about their disadvantages. Back to the paint code, I would suggest Subaru but being an import I'm not sure if they would have the information. Most paints with have a dark shade, light shad, blue shade ECT, have you tried the standox website?

thanks for advice was hoping to find someone that was in my position with the same issue but with a paint code solution.i will take a panel to my local paint shop and match it by the looks of things.thanks again
