Default Level of decat - new age

Slight n00b question, I have a 2002 wrx bug and wanted to know what level of decat I can go including uppipe, before having to get a "friendly" MOT place to do the test.

I had a uk turbo 2000 before fully decatted and replacing the downpipe for the std one became a right pain in the ****

I asked this before changing my down pipe...

I was told others have done without issues.. remove centre cat, fit sports car down pipe.
and you should be OK for MOT...

I say this as I just fail my local MOT last Thursday PM on emmisions.. high CO, which I think is the CAT not working correctly....
but Im going for a retest tommorow after a nice long revvy drive to get the cat nice n hot

As above, Up-pipe cat, 2nd cat but it would need a map and poss a sports cat to get through emissions

I've got a bug too mate, you can take out the the uppipe pre cat and the 3rd cat after the downpipe and still pass an MOT.
You will need a friendly MOT tester after you remove the big cat in the downpipe, or swap it once a year

As GAZ says don't forget you will need a remap if you change the downpipe. All the others are fine to remove as mentioned although a map tweak would be best to get the most out of removing the cats.

Thanks guys.it already has a PPP fitted so assume a sports cat is in the downpipe to replace the std one and the cat in the centre pipe is still there.
