Question ABS problem 98 WRX where whas the ABS relays?

Hello

I have some problem with a 98 WRX.
The ABS warning light was lighting.
I where by a Subaru mechanic and have read the error out. It was the ABS Control Unit/Motor. I have buy a second hand part and have install it.
The error is still there

I have checked some cable from the Control Unit to the car interior. The most have a resistance.

Now i will check the relay but i did not found it have someone a idea where it can be?

best wishes
Christian

PS
Sorry for my english

Hi Christian

Assume you have error code?

We have similar problem before, when we are replaced ABS pump for second hand one,we are replaced all ABS sensors(new sensor cost around £200) and we have still the same error at the end main cause of this error has been damaged rear hub

Before you will be spending the money, check hubs and check if ABS sensors are in good condition(clean them if they're dirty),check the ABS ring if they're not damaged

At the end we are thinking to remove ABS,because on the Impreza(or Subaru) ABS doesn't work as you are think,on track or in winter weather really ABS on Subaru is useless

Hope this help

Hi Christian

This can cause ABS ring, which will need just little bit clean, not sure how much cost new,but would expect somewhere at £20 region,if less that's good

On our has been damaged rear hub, someone has replaced discs at rear and damaged the hub, before we are replaced almost everything and at the has been hub, which caused this

On yours do you have ABS error on your dashboard and if you are braking do you have sound like metal touching metal?

Okay thank.

I clean tomorrow the ABS rings maybe i replace it when it to much rust. and look at the hubs.

No there no sound, only the lamp (error code) shines and the ABS did not work.
Sometimes work the ABS normal (no error code) when i drive to work. But sometimes when i drive shines under the drive the error code on.

best wishes

Thank you for the answers
All lights okay rear.

I have clean all sensors and rings. All rings was not damaged.

Then i have seen that the rear right more distance have that the left and front one.
This sensor have a Subaru mechanic for a half year renewed.

The screw was lose. I have expanded clean the hole and clean the sensor return.
The distance was now alright.

By the first test drive the error code does not shines!
Maybe was this the problem!?

best wishes
