Hi,

My limited knowledge of lambda sensors means i may be wrong in my assumptions, but is the lambda only used when on idle and cruising speeds? not on boost?

I have replaced my HT leads and Lambda today as i had a slightly lumpy idle, however this caused a bad misfire which occured anywhere between 2000 and well into the boost zone. I have put the old HT leads back and original Lambda back and its still doing it! so it looks like a coinsidence which is a bit odd!

I replaced the plugs a few months ago.

What do you you think would cause this?

I am getting no errors on the ecu.

PS. its a 2000 P1 and i have replaced the MAF about a week ago and it has run fine until I did the work described above.

Did you use genuine new parts?

 

Cracked coilpack...which worsened when you changed the HT leads maybe?

 

It was a Bosch lambda but everything is back to the original set up now and it's still happening, my next thought was coil pack!

 

plug gap 0.7mm or straight out the packet ?

 

Well I did my best to get it to 0.7 but they seemed to be about right from the box. I think 0.6 is also talked about?

 

Is it missing on multiple cylinders or just one ?

do you have a WB02? able to log? fuel trims? o2 feedback??

 

So this would mean the lambda would not affect fueling on boost and becuase i am experienceing problems on both off and on boost it must be somthing else ?

 

sounds like unmetered air to me , mate has the same problem at the moment on his wagon, look for a air leak the engine side of the maff

Think you may have it mate!

I had a good look round tonight and can see the intake hose is badly mauled at the point it connects to the turbo. Someone has bodged it in the past with 2 jubalee clips but it looks like its not sealing at all. i moved the intake pipe a bit when I reattached the air box so this probably agrevated the situation!
