Sure it's the turbo? not a pipe or similar? Was it a private buy?
If it is the turbo, do you want like for like or do you have higher power aspirations in the future?

Yea pretty much ruled everything else out, and went to a local specialist and he and a couple others say it sounds like the turbo, its making an awesome noise and no boost at all.

The highest id be taking it would be to 390bhp ish as i know the internals aren't good for anything more, so the standard turbo would be fine, unless there's something else that could be recommended?

Try some of the tuners on here, like Scoobyclinic, Enginetuner etc, they may well take in part ex turbo's, when upgrading.

If the oil was low enough to kill the turbo bearing, I'm not confident that the rest of the engine was receiving all it should!

Im not 100% sure that it was the low oil level that killed the turbo or not, it seems to be the impeller that is damaged according to the noises its making, dont think its actually seized, will find out for sure when the turbo comes off, but everything else has been ruled out, and the symptoms all point to impeller damage.
Hopefully sourced a turbo from one of the traders so fingers crossed!

Definitely not a boost leak? That would make a real loud noise with no boost (or very little) if say the intercooler pipe was split or something similar just a thought
