Default Newage wrx engine limits

Morning all.

I have a blobeye wrx. Due to an unfortunate lack of knowledge when my engine blew....I now have a brand new engine in it which I'm guessing is open deck again (might be semi closed but I doubt it) but has uprated cosworth forged pistons. What is the limit of the block (assuming open) and the conrods etc please? I'm told the block and rods are good for 400??? Is that a reliable 400 or is that a limit? The gearbox is only rated to that as well is it not?

......I'm at scooby clinic next month and I'm currently going for their new sc32 turbo which should be good for 340/350bhp which is adequate but dont want to regret not getting the sc36 if I'm wrong on what everything can take.....I do want to do some track days so don't want to be right on the limit of anything really.....

Thanks

400ish should be ok, I know people that are running 450+ on ODB. Gearbox should hold out as torque wont be that high on the 2.0l.

SC36 is similar to a 18G turbo so really its a 360-370 turbo.

2.0L WRX OBD with forged internals should be good for 450bhp,we are run 2.1 stroker based on same block(EJ205) as you are now using 490bhp without the problem, our engine has been build for 550bhp.

Limit of block is around 550bhp with ARP headstuds and with right rods you should be OK as I said at 550bhp.Your gearbox WRX is biggest limiting factor, due this I would have look for 6speed or PPG

If its only forged engine not stroker, would say SC42 should be good too on yours

What's the gearbox good for then please? My internals are all brand but standard other than the cossy forged pistons and the pink injectors (obviously I have cold air feed, Sti intercooler and scoop, 3 inch straight through system with proper bell mouth onto the turbo etc)...... I don't want to take things to limit as that's when they break so what bhp and torque should I aim for to be 'safe' but getting the most of what I have ATM please?

Gearbox limit is around 350, some take more. Also depends how you drive it.

So assuming your going to track day it etc and you don't have 2 grand sat around waiting to buy 6 speed gearbox, shafts, hubs etc then an sc32 billet turbo giving around 340 is probably my best bet? It's currently a td4 and only running 270 bhp so it's still a marked improvement!
