hi. new to scoobys and hungry for knowledge. i have picked up an 02 bug eye with an turbo ej205 that has noise from hydraulic followers. can i replace the followers with follower from an earlier ej20.
Also would it be possible to fit an sti gearbox into into this wrx with out changing the rest of the running gear

no sure about the followers but you can change the
Gearbox aslong as you use the correct
Diff for the box

you can use the followers from a 1998 onwards 13228AA031 is the PN

ok... that would be the phase 2 ej20. i know that some changes had been made to the heads when phase 2 came in around 1998.
I picked up heads from a 95 mod for 50 sqid.... looks like its time to put them on ebay.

An 02 EJ205 doesn`t have hydraulic followers. If it`s a wrx am sure it`s got shim over bucket solid lifters.
