Default 94 wrx wagon dying

ive just got my wrx ej20 turbo wagon on the road after a year of being laid up, when i got it the standard boost controller was disconnected, so was overboosting and cutting out at 1.2 bar, all was conected and was running .7bar for a few days fine, then yesterday it started topping out at .5, it then coughed and went back to .7, then after an hour back to .5, now this morning it dropped to .4,
so ive fitted a manual boost controller, set to .9 bar. its running ok

but every now and again around 4k its as if the ignition is switched off it sudenly slows down, which is horrid at close to .9 bar of boost then suddenly back on, it used to do it with the standard controller too.

any ideas whats causing it to die?

You are getting fuel cut due to overboost. First check all your vac pipes & turbo & induction pipes. If it's decatted then this may be a problem which a remap would fix but that requires an aftermarket ECU on your car & you should be able to turn the boost down on the controller to avoid fuel cut. Try it at 0.8

Fuels nice an fresh. It's had over £100 in her.
No decat just a cat back system.
It was even doing it at standard boost levels every now and again though?

Thanks for replying.

Are you sure its not just a misfire, dodgy coil pack?

Has the car been properly serviced since been lying up? Once you get the boost sorted I'd be looking at the ignition system, could just need a set of plugs or might have a dodgey coil pack , notorious for them

Oil and filter was changed, And coolant.

What are the like to do plugs etc on?
Seems tight, mines the version with coil packs on each cylinder.
