Default Bugeye reving slightly when changing gear

Quick question:

My 2002 bugeye seems to be reving slightly when changing gear

I think my clutch is on its way out, will this have anything to do with it?

Thanks

Mine does this too and has done for 3 years,do a search and you'll find its common and i believe it can be mapped out.

Mine has been mapped and it still does it a bit.
I have heard that Bob Rawle knows how to stop it.

Trouble is Shaun I have tried to ignore it mate but I can't, it's like a grain of sand in one's eye, very irritating indeed.

If there is a low cost solution I am determined to sort it but I don't want to spend fortune on such a small but frustrating niggle

Mine does this too. It's like the throttle is blipped when I dip the clutch to change gear and the rev's rise about 200-250 rpm for a split second. I just thought it was something that the factory had written into the electronics software to make gear changes smoother, which it doesn't, and like others before me, I think it is bloody irritating and sounds like I've still got my foot on the throttle when I dip the clutch to change gear, but if I just dip the clutch and don't move the gear lever, it doesn't do it?

I've literally just had a new clutch and so it isn't anything to do with the old one being worn, as it did it before and still does it now.

Thanks for the info mate, appreciate it, I guess that rules out a slipping/worn clutch

Bob Rawle said it is a mapping issue & he can be contacted with a solution that can be offered.

QED I guess!

Is this "blipping" of the throttle a mechanical fault, or is it something that has been written into the fuel injection software as part of the original factory settings?

I have been taking more notice of my rev counter since reading this thread and have discovered that the amount the revs rise when changing gear varies on the amount of revs being used.

Between 2 - 3k rpm the engine revs rise about 250 rpm. Between 3 - 4k rpm the revs only rise about 100 - 150 rpm and above 5k rpm the revs don't rise at all.

It also doesn't do it at all on down shifts either on or off the brakes.

As I've said before, I just assumed that this "blipping was a (not so) clever standard factory setting!
