Default FMIC which retains fogs? Blobeye

Hey all,

Considering a FMIC. Considering being the key word here.

What options allow you to keep the fog lights on a blobeye?

Thanks

My classic still has the Hella driving lights, although the backplates had to be modded due to having the corners cut off.

Have a word with harvey (Smith) on here. he sells FMIC's and Darren, who does most of the work for him, knows their fitting very well. I'm sure he will be able to advise.

The bugeye front wasn't THAT different to a classic, after all.

The kit for the blobeye we have here allows you to retain the foglights/repalcement spot lights.

I think if Harvey is saying it does retain fog lights, and you're saying it doesn't then we both probably want to see the pictures please!

mine are in my post, harvey may be correct but there is no way mine would fit in, if he can supply pictures with the fogs in the he has my apologies as he has fitted more than me, but i couldn't retain them.

i wouldnt worry though as the intercooler is excellent and harvey helped me out when fitting so i 100% recommend him and the product, just no way you will retain the foglights on mine, its not like you can fit the intercooler in the wrong place either or the pipework wont fit.

if you remove the fogs you will see where the bracket attaches to the bumper.
you need to remove a large part of this on the left side as this is where the pipe goes, the foglight will not fit back in anyway as the pipe sits where the bottom of the fog would be.
the passenger side it may be possible but one fog is not much use.

as said there may be a way and if harvey has done it,i apologise but i cant see any way you can.

Well mine doesn't actually have fogs, but I use the fog surrounds as air feeds...

ahh this may be possible, its the bottom part of the foglight bracket on the drivers side you lose and the fog wont fit due to the pipe being there

I assure you that fog lights and air con are retained with our kits and we fit these on a regular basis. Mr Tubbytommy was given loads of info by telephone to assist him with his fit as he indicates above but at no time did he ask for assistance in retaining the fog lights.
If a car comes to us for one of our FMIC kits, we retain the foglights and the car leaves as it arrived plus FMIC retaining fog lights.

As did mine, but I'd previously read, on here, that it wasn't possible with classics either.

Harvey and Darren know their stuff. If Harvey says it can be done, it CAN be done, trust me.

it wasnt a problem harvey, i didnt ask as i wasnt bothered about keeping them,as i said above you fit more than me.
if you have done it with fogs intact then fair enough but the fmic can only fit in one place on the car and the drivers side pipework goes where the fog would be so there is no way it would fit back in on my car.
any chance you have a pic as im interested to see how it does fit.
anyway the fmic is first class as was harveys help on fitting which was more important plus i got £150 on ebay for my fogs.
the aircon isnt affected in any way as the pipework goes under the car.
