Default Removing wing mirror glass

How do i remove wing mirror glass, from classic facelift mirrors?

I've done it many times sucessfully, using boiled water, poured directly onto the glass.

Does it not unclip from mirror?

you need to warm the black plastic glass surround until soft and carefully use a spreader to push the black trim away all around the mirror glass, if the mirror glass has never been off it will also have a couple of pieces of double sided foam on the back, good luck.

Ive used a hair dryer but as mentioned get it hot/warm so it will flex and not just snap and crack.

Really, i thought it might clip out as wanted to get mirrors resprayed

no does not clip out tried that myself only to break a mirror glass, when you have removed/broke the glass you will see the mirror backing trim screws.

I think i will leave it and just tape the mirror up thanks anyway
