Expansion tank??

Hi have looked at a few pics of these with painted tops etc but I can find out how to split them to paint the top or can you only paint as a whole unit

Do you mean the reservoir with the pressure cap, the part attached to the inlet manifold? If so just undo the row of bolts around the edge.

Yeah sorry that's the part lol so just undo them and off it comes

Yep. There is a big thick rubber seal underneath be careful not to damage it.
