Question dei turbo insulation blanket is burning...

as above, it has only been on about 20 ish miles, of soft driving. and it has started to burn on the out side of the silver finish. it has got the tan mat under neath (2 layers) and the silver on top. its smoking abit and the silver finish is turning brown in a couple of places.

anyone else have this problem?

Sounds very strange as DEI is top quality kit, they do smoke and smell a little when first fitted but it should not burn or set on fire, are you sure its 100% DEI and not a copy ian as some of the cheap sh/t around at the minute is not up to the job.

my blanket took a few good runs to burn in and stop smoking, but now after 60 odd hard miles its excellent, although you can still get a faint smell from it when you first turn the engine off.

The smell ( I would describe ) is like a cinder toffee smell from good quality DEI
But any material that burns in your engine bay is a fire hazard
So if it's a fake , u want to take it off ASAP
