Default bug eye WRX stuttering engine under moderateload

Hi all,

on way home today the car started playing up..
under light-moderate acceleration from 2500-3300rpm the engine would... for want of a better word.. feather power.. like quickly gas on.off.on.off etc.

cruising at 2000.2800 it was fine.
I didnt take it above 3500 for fear of what might try n escape from the block.

Iv had a CEL on for a week, some times on, sometimes off...
this was since I changed my down pipe and rear cat to a PPP down pipe and catless rear pipe. might be relates, might not?

I should have a ScanGauge arriving any day now so I can see if any other codes are in there..

any thought of what it might be??

cheers

Sounds like a boost leak as its coming onto boost. Could be from vacuum hoses, dump valve, intercooler etc. As you have recently had your intercooler off, I'd check the connection on your turbo outlet & on your throttle body.

well ScanGauge turned up today so I plugged it in and I get
P0327
Which search tells me is a knock issue.. or a sensor most prob'

So Iv reset the CEL and now the car drives OK..
I guess the P0327 code will return sooner or later so I'll look at getting a new sensor soon.

cheers all
