hi guys joined the impreza world last monday so still learning. i have a 2004 blob wrx

is it known to cause any running issues if fit an sti up pipe or decatted up pipe before a remap?? i guess the CEL will come on tho right?

also the same for the centre section pipe does a decatted pipe cause any running issues or a CEL

An Sti up pipe is a straight through pipe and goes before the turbo. Changing that will make the EGT sensor light come on which you have to trick to stay off or have the CEL turned off. A Sti downpipe goes after the turbo so does the 2nd cat, changing these will prob give a different light, which can also be turned off. If you are determined to fit these parts, i would say up pipe first then exhaust second then see a mapper / tuner.

Changing just the up pipe wont give any running issues, changing the downpipe and 2nd de cat may put the fuelling out of limits and need tweeking / mapping.

It's not so much the fueling, the boost profile will change due to the free flowing exhaust. So you might get some over boost/spikes/dips as the ecu tries/fails to control it.
