Default just a few question, scooby noob lol

hi there everyone, i own a subaru impreza estate uk w reg 2000, the car has had a great deal of money spent on it especially the engine, it has had a full rebuild with forged pistons and loads of internal work

here is the receipt for the work done on the engine last year im still learning about my subaru

here are a pics of the car

it drives great and i love the grip and just recently fitted a ecutek ecu which has helped it get a bit more poke i dont really drive the car hard only do 3k a year!

but i do have a few questions

firstly when i do drive and accelerating the turbo boosts up then seems to slow the boosts again then slows like power comes in and out not sure why is does this?

when i bought the car was told only needed a bigger turbo, was recommended to purchase a vf34/ vf35 turbo are these a straight easy fit to my engine or would i need more work done and are they expensive? also what turbo am i running now? is there a better simple turbo upgrade i could do?

sorry for all the question and apologies if i posted in the wrong section

thanks for ready and i look forward to reading the replies and any help

thanks

You bought an ecu with an Ecutek remap but was it mapped for your car (and associated mods?).

Think you have a TD04 turbo but why were you told it only needed a bigger turbo?

VF34 should fit straight on but you'll need a remap.

You need to have the car mapped to your particular mods, you're lucky you've got away with it for so long.

You need to find someone you can trust that is familiar with Subarus. They need to look the car over and give you advice as to the current status, what needs attending to and whether you need a remap.
I don't know who the rebuild was done by but they may be a possibility. Alternatively speak to someone like Simon Rowe aka Jolly Green Monster. He can assess the car and tell you what is needed. Just fitting a turbo is not an option as there may be a need for injectors for instance.
Best seek professional advice asap and do not use a lot of throttle until that is done or it could end in tears.
