Hi, I am looking to change my UK turbo Td04 to a Td05.
Can someone advise me which type (top entry, or front entry) is required for a Subaru Impreza UK 2000 X reg Classic shape, also what else will need changing?
Will i require to uprate the Actuator? Fuel pump? Remap? intercooler? Also what sort of power gain will i see in a TD05?
please explain to me the process and is it a very costly process? cheers

You will need a re-map if you change the turbo. I can't remember if a UK has 440cc injectors or not, if not 440's, a fuel pump, FMIC and front entry TD05 should give you 330bhp. Might be an idea though to look at VF35's as you may find a TD05 a little laggy if you are used to a TD04. Nothing wrong with TD05's but VF35's spool earlier and are also readily available.

im on td05 on my bug with 440cc injectors and they are maxed with me sat at 290bhp it in a sence the last thing i need to cange and remap. but as person above says you may be better on vf turbos

Will the Td04 if tuned to 270-80bhp feel the same turbo kick back as a td05 or a Vf35 set at the same power?

IMO you could leave the td04 and do the other mods as mentioned, fuel pump, filter, mayber a top mount from a newer sti(good for 400), injectors, decat exhaust, and performance cat back exhaust. remap those and see what you get then if not happy go for the bigger turbos

hey cheers guys for the advice, its already got a a decat and a full s/s exhaust, Blitz induction kit, and a dump valve, maybe next to do list is: Uprated Fuel Pump and intercooler and a remap to see the difference.... Hmmm
