SOLVED: Wipers coming off windscreen
Hi
My wipers have developed an interesting fault over the last couple of weeks.
When travelling at high speed (60mph+) and with wipers on full the drivers side wiper travels off the edge of the windscreen.
I'm missing the trim along that edge of the windscreen and it went so far over it "jumped" over the aerial housing, got wedged on it and I was hurtling down the M40 in torrential rain with stuck wipers completely blind!
Is the solution just to take the cover off the wiper nut and retighten it or do I need to do anything else to stop the distance of travel? I've also noticed that sometimes when they're on they make a clunk noise when they reach the bottom of their wipe....
Thanks
Nick

FYI if anyone reads this I diagnosed the problem to the linkage arm. There is a nylon ball that had worn down so there was excess travel.
Got a new arm from a scooby dealership and swapped them over.
