exhaust seems too Long!!!!!!!!!!!!
hi guys
i have a bug wrx with a toyo backbox and centre section. i seen the pics of it on the fellas car which was a bug wagon, and its all matched to a sports cat and is a jap style exit, but the whole thing seems too long. The tailpipe seems to stick out from the back of the car as other ones ive seem dont.
so my question is, which bit do you reckon is too long
the sports cat, i.e could it be a classic or newage(dont know which one is the longest) and bought from ebay
or is the exhaust from a wagon longer than the exhaust from a saloon
thanks in advance guys

I think the classic downpipes are longer than the newage but a lot longer this thread seems to explain it well with a diagram if it helps...

I fitted an h&s downpipe recently on a friends car and it required pulling the whole 2 rear sections about an inch forward from where they were with the stock downpipe. This pulled the tailpipe tip in toward the bumper by 1 inch. Basically the downpipe wasn't the same shape as the subaru one, flanges lined up perfect though and wasn't necessarly 'wrong' just different. If yours is only a bit off maybe it just needs a tweak.
On my old car i had the h&s classic backbox & had to re-bend the exhaust tubing slightly to clear a towbar bracket so it happens.
