Default Re-build engine ?

Hi, new to this so would be greatful of advice. I have a 2005 forester 2.5 XT with 95k miles on the clock. The cars in good condition cosmetically but the cylinders are low on pressure. I've seen a very good independent Subaru specialist who says the engine will have to be pulled apart and rebuilt. The cost would be around £3000. I bought the car for £5200. Question is, should I get it repaired?

Try someone like api I'm sure it would work out cheaper. How long ago did you buy the car, is it not covered by any warranty.
