Mafless set up ?

Perrin inlet pipe, with the samco filter to inlet. then a small length of 90mm pipe to join the samco to the filter. In this pic its a K&N RU3130 which was previously mapped to 440/410.
Ideally get a hard pipe made as these silicone ones can be prone to sucking shut when they get old and soft, if youve got a big power build and too small a filter.... the filter in the pic is too small really so being replaced with a bigger one (hope it fits!) before final mapping.

IIRC you can disconnect the MAF and leave it in situ (not sure this wouldnt get ruined over time though). Alternatively you can buy a HKS hard-pipe, i got one for around £20

^?????? please explain avery, what ecu are you running to have gone mafless but still need the maf sensor plugged in?
.... sorry, misread that! ..... what your saying is that the maf sensor pipework, the sensor and all related shebang can be left in place just to connect filter to turbo ..... fair point!

im using an aps cak. I was using it with a maf. When i switched to maffless i just left the sensor in the hard pipe but unpluged.

As above i watched jgm map a v1 wrx recently and what he done was just unplug the maf and leave everything in place. Ie standard airbox, Piping the lot. But most remove it and fit induction kits or whatever really

Cheapest way is to find 2nd hand versions of either this for v1-3...

or this for v4-6...

Nicest tidy up mod to do when going mafless is to replace the idle control valve feed from just after the maf, with a small crank case breather filter.... as seen in my pic.

Yeah, it wasnt a restriction at all!
Danger is, as it gets older, the silicone gets softer and is then more likely to suck shut.
When its mapped next it will have an RU1785, which is slightly bigger so should be good for 480.
