Subaru sport lagging..? NOOB NEEDS HELP
Hi all,
Im new here and dont know much about scoobys. Ive brought a Subaru sport wagon a few weeks ago, it has a HKS exhaust and an induction kit on it (unsure which make). When driving, for example, in 4th gear doing 2k revs I put my foot down and it laggs... until reaching 3k and picks up alot quicker. The car shakes when doing this untill it picks up. It feels like it wants to go but something is holding it back..? Does anyone know what the problem is? I spoke to someone in Halfords (of all places LOL) he tunes supras and celicas, he said it may be that the induction kit is sucking too much air in and is causing a dirty spark in the plugs and recommended either getting the standard air box and getting an k&n filter or getting it remapped? Is this correct or is there something else?
thanks,
Dan.

Assuming you do mean sport Wagon then it's unlikely to need a remap as its NA not turbo'd. Could be the HKS does not give enough back pressure as its designed for a turbo engine.
Also has the engine had a good clean? E.g. Replace plugs, clean MAF check HT leads, clean fuel system and replace fuel filter and clean induction cone?
