Default very new scooby owner needing advise (meaning dont know any think about them)

i have just brought my 2002 WRX bugeye (last week) it runs smooth sounds great drives lovely.

i drove it from a car park to my work place, 2 min drive if that, when i got to work it sat at idle for roughly 10 min before i turned it off.

then on restart it blow out a puff of bluey white smoke but then was fine no funny idle or noises at any stage.

dont think the car has any mod's other then decat pipe and induction kit.

there seems to be a bit of oil around the turbo area (pipe to turbo) and around some other pipes, maybe breather pipes.
(havent had a proper look as havent had the time to clean then see where its coming from)

it has only happened once so far to my knowledge.

i was just wondering if this is something that just happens time to time after short journeys or if i should look out for something more????

cheers for any info and sorry if this is a stupid question.

i have looked at lots of sites. but some say its normal some say eng needs a rebuild????

please help any advise would be great

cheers

steve

Running it over that short distance and even idleing for 10 mins. the ecu probably hasnt got out of the enrichment stage. what you saw was probably excess fuel that was already in the system. on re-start the ecu has dumped another load of fuel into it for a cold start. keep you eye on the oil level to determine whether its using any. but id guess from what you describe an over fuel situation
