So as I continue too run my engine in driving as steady as ever I have put about 1000 miles on now and after another oil change I began too give it a little boost .4/5 tops! But the car boosts nice untill the revs rise a little and I get an awful noise like a loud! Whirring ? Or fog horn sort of sound so I'm guessing boost leak!
Well I check my oil every time I move the car as I'm now super paranoid after what happened to the bottom end and this morning there was no oil in it! It was fine yesterday and it's not leaked on the floor so does that mean my turbo seals have gone? It's not been driven hard so have not noticed any smoke but I wonder if the noise is the turbo??

Also I have a vf23 turbo on my 98 type r will a vf22 go on it as there is one on eBay and if I need a turbo will this be an upgrade?
I need it sorting quick as it's booked in for remapping on 19th July!

The engine might use some oil on run in, may take very little to top it up....

Have you any smoke?

 

It did take only half a letre and I have seen no smoke ...

 

i wouldnt worry.mine used abit while i ran it in.

 

Ive got a ej207 and its been using a bit of oil during run in, now ive had a safe map put on the car and given it a bit of a thrashing it doesnt use as much oil.

 

Did yours have any teething problems such as boost leaks etc..
