Default Half boost problem

Ok, im not very in tune to an engine, if ya know what i mean. But my car keeps dropping boost, its a 2003 wrx prdrive. It usually boosts at about 15psi, but its only boosting at 8psi at the min.

Some times it boosts properly but then it just drops as if its in limp/safe mode.

Can anybody point out some reasons for this? As i need to check over it asap

Thanks, michael

Maybe your boost solenoid needs replacing or clearing as you are running just the wastegate pressure

It will be under a black cover infront if the drivers strut in the engine bay. The pipes from the turbo (little ones) will go to it. You can clean it with brake cleaner I believe but may be best to get some to look at it and may just be worth changing if its the original?

iv put my mates solanoid on my car, and it was exactly the same, so we ran a diagnostics on it. its the mass air flow sensor! but i dont think its the meter itself, the clip that goes into it seems to be broke, its got tape on the inside of the clip, and when i took it out it wouldnt run, so i put some more tape in, and guess what.......it ran perfect, full boost the lot, but only for 15 mins!

so my question is, does any1 know the part number for the clip?

also, is this the correct meter for my 2003 wrx?
