hey, some of you may have seen my previous posts about getting round my 95 ron fuel problem as its the only fuel i can get in my area. i have spent days googling about running 95,97,99 and methenol mix etc etc and came across gas conversions on an wrx and sti, they both apparantly ran very very well and didnt loose any power over standard. i got a quote for the same install and it came back for a wrx at £1300 and sti at £1600 as it needs more fine tuning and bigger injectors, this includes a lube system to lube the valves, courtesy car, 24 month warranty, 1000 mile check up and tweak etc. the ones i seen were setup to run pure gas and then switch to petrol about 5k and apparantly you could not notice the switch over at all. my plan was buy a 2.0 or 2.5 sti, get a gas conversion by the company that quoted me as they have done subarus before, and then when i add modifications i will take the car for a remap to run 99 ron for when im in the central belt and also a map for the 95 ron and gas setup for when im back on the isle of skye. apparantly the gas has a high octane of over 100 and the posts i read said it ran very well on gas and when the gas price and mpg was worked out as if it were a petrol only car it was doing 44 mpg
is their any members on here that have been running gas for a few years or 20,000+ miles
