subaru wrx 2004 cd not working

hi there my standard cd player not working. all lights up and all functions work but no sound. did by another 1 off ebay but same thing. whats the chances that there both broken. can any 1 help

Its knackered, it's crap anyway so replace with a better unit and speakers have no separate fuse.
