The standard regulator is fine, only worth getting if you want to raise fuel pressure up so you can get most from you injectors ( before changing to bigger injectors)

So if i fitted one it would increase fuel presure causing more fuel to be forced in or just improve circulation of fuel?

fitting one will give you options such as reversing fuel flow. It has been sugested on here in the past that this is worthwhile. do a search I'm sure you'll find more info.
but as previously said if your running fairly standard then its not entirely necessary.

If you don't need one don't fit one.

Also be careful on which fpr you buy as some can make your car run much worse than you can imagine.I considered an fse fpr as i had 1 on my cosworth 20+ yrs ago. But after reading through the archives i decided not to. Also cheap ebay jobbies are worth avoiding. It might be worth having a read of this: http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/26032.html
