Anyone using Gulf Competition oil?
One of the recommended oils for a classic by Oilman so not doubting his advice, just not heard of anyone having used it? Want to use it for one thing due to the whole Gulf Porsche/GT40 history thing (not the best reason I know) but also if it's good stuff as well!

We've sold a lot of the Gulf Competition in all forms - engine oils, gear oils, brake fluid etc and we've not had a single person tell us it's no good. We had it tested before we started selling it, so we knew it was good, but to my knowledge, no one has had a moan about any of the Competition stuff. All the other top oils, like the Pro S, CFS etc have had a few people that don't rate them, but not a single problem with the Gulf. People started buying it because it was cheaper than the other top end oils, but for the last few weeks there have been deals on so the Pro S and CFS were about the same price, but people were still going for the Gulf. That's a pretty good indication of how good it is.

Keep meaning to ask my mate to build me a Tamiya plastic kit with a Gulf paint job, reckon it would look lovely as I have an unbuilt tarmac spec kit stashed away somewhere (he builds cars of all types as a hobby but sells quite a bit on eBay, all to a really good standard)

I love associating oils with racing cars too! Mmm BMW fina paintwork was awesome. Anyway back to topic Gulf competition is up there with Millers and Fuchs it's brilliant stuff. I'm using it for diff oil and gear oil, also brake fluid.

Not an oil related paint scheme but have always had a thing for the orange Jagermeister cars as well - had a few slotcars and RC shells done like that in the past...
Any offers on other iconic paint jobs? Martini Porsche etc

Sadly no more.... It was written off by a drunk in a Golf in 1999!!!
I love Evos in Monza Red - their 'correct' colour IMO (even though I don't like red cars per se). They just look so right and aggressive in that hue. It's the contrast of the the black detailing against the red that does it, I think.
Also the Giallo Fly (yellow) ones look the nuts. Only 220 of those made, and at least 20 of them have now gone to the breakers in heaven!
The market has picked up again for Integrales - it's so sensitive to how many are in the UK at any given time, and to the quality of the cars present. You don't really wanna be spending much less than anywhere between 10-15k for a decent, sorted Evo I or II. But the very top notch ones can fetch 20+. And unregistered ones (there're still some!), and some of the special editions, well north of 40k!!!
This was exactly the scenario as back in 1998, when I got mine! Best bet is to buy from Walkers or John Whalley. It'll be fully sorted and they sell only the best examples, all with provenance - but you'll pay a premium for the privilege. But if you buy into an unloved 'dog', you could easily be looking at an extra 5k+ just to get it back to normal....!
