Thought I would post this up to find out how others have got on with noise testing / track day levels with there Cobra "Track day friendly" Exhaust systems.

I recently purchased the decat 3" turbo back track day friendly system.
I Specified a 4.5" exit to the backbox (perfect size on a newage imo)

took the car down to Goodwood today and the course steward kindly measured mine as I have it booked for a track day next week there.
Results came back at.. 100db, which does not pass there 98db limit.

bit disappointed by this as on cobra's website this is stated as being 97db or less on the decat option and even quieter with a cat,

Could me opting for a 4.5" exit instead of a straight 3.5" rolled tip exit have made this difference? the silencers are all still the same..

Have any others had similar results?

Can't see on cobras site at what distance and angle their quoted db are measured at, perhaps this has something to do with the difference?

I would guess so Matt,

Goodwood test 1 meter back and 45 degrees above from exit.
I had 87db idle and 100db at 5400rpm

Got the same system on my jdm bug sti,took mine back twice to be quietned down to loud for my liking they bunged it up the first time I wasn't happy with that so took it back again and they changed one of the silencers made a world of difference I even think the car runs better with the change of the silencer..and to be honest I said to them I didn't want a loud system,they still sold me the track friendly one it was no quieter than the system that came off wich was a cat back one
