Default What mod next?

Hi All

Just after some advice of where I could go with my car next really. Its a 53 plate sti with a sc38 billet, full 3" exhaust, uprated fuel pump and panel filter running around 360bhp. Its been remapped and the brakes have been uprated to PF discs and pads as well. Just wanted to know what the next step would be.

Cheers

Depends what you want out of it, styling? Power? Handling? Maybe put some coilovers on it?

I would like something thats going to make it perform better. The only thing with coilovers after driving a couple of cars with them on is the ride. Mines got spec c struts on and for a daily driver its greatover the speed bumps where I live.

I've heard that the South of France is quite nice this time of year, or if you don't have a passport you could try Cornwall

For the SC36 you want ported headers and matched uppipe all DEI heat wrapped.

Thanks Harvey for the sensible reply. What kind of difference do you think they would make. Would it be more bhp or torque or both and how much would I be looking at.

I could tell you it will add 11.76 bhp and 14.9 lbs.ft but that would be a load of bollocks. Every car will react differently and it will not add any particular set figure and the gains will be greater if you get a remap. I suggest you canvas people who have had ported headers and matched uppipe from me to tell you what difference it has made.
The car will feel crisper, it will spool earlier by a small margin and it will have more torque right across the rev range. There will be more bhp and it will be less breathless further up the rev range.
One uppipe cannot be suitable for a complete range of turbos which can range from a TD04 on a 2 litre to a TD05 20G on say a 2.5 so part of the knack is matching the uppipe to the car spec.
If your e-mail address is on your profile or you send me your email address I will send you a standard letter that may assist you.
Remember that bhp = torque x revs / 5252 so an increase in torque will increase bhp but the point where the torque is produced will influence the power addition.
