ye i have had the clocks out, all plugged in fine. i just left the car took the covers off in the boot above fuel tank to check all was plugged in which it was.
ill have to look at clocks again then.
would a faulty water temp sensor cause this fault??

update, today fitted new clocks sorted the problem, updating as others may come across same problem. the mechanical claocks are known for failing. altering the milage again is easy.
