Default Help needed with radiator fan please.

Hi all i am after some advice with the radiator fan on my scoob! it's a standard L reg auto wagon import. After i drive it the fan will come on but when i rev it they stop but come back on when the revvs drop again! when i bought the car my friend told me to service the car before using it and while we were removing the radiator we notice that one of the fan's were disconnected! so when we refitted rad i connected both fan's up and they worked ok. But noticed this problem yesterday! also i am having knock sensor problems but got a new one on order, would that cause the issue with the fan? thank you in advance for any info. oh yeah the fan issue happens how ever i drive the car!

Cheers Iwan

Is the fan on from the moment you start the car?

Cheers Iain

Is it overheating? What's the water level like?
Any evidence of oil in water, or vice versa?
