Default piston ring headache

hi all im about to start rebuilding my jdm version 6 wrx and need new piston rings thing is im not 100% sure which widths mine are as there are a couple of variations my pistons are standard items with standard 92mm bore just wondered if anyone has any idea which ones i need and where,s best to get them from as struggling at the minute

Take a piston out and measure them, i think they should be 1.5/1.5/3.0mm, you can get them from Advanced Automotives in Bristol, measure them to be sure.

cheers mate have the pistons out already just didnt know if a normal ruler would be accurate enough

seriously? a school ruler? this has to be a pi$$ take. you are trying to measure a component part that will have serious consequences for your new engine if you get it wrong with a ruler. buy or borrow a micrometer ffs.

The only rings that have the 3.00mm oil ring will have 1.5/1.5/3.00 combination, so if your happy you can measure the oil ring go for it. obviously check they fit the pistons when you get them.

I measured mine with a piece of string and then measured the piece of string with a ruler to be more accurate.
