Default Fuel cap pressure.

I run my fuel tank from full down to a couple of gallons every week. When i remove my fuel cap a lot of pressure escapes. Is this normal for an 02 bugeye ?
After re fuelling, the car also seems more sharper and eager. Am i losing flow pressure somewhere due inefficient breathing do you think ?

My classic does it. I always thought it was pressure equalising as air was sucked in?

My bug WRX "depressurises" when I remove the filler cap, I thought the FPR kept the fuel pressure in check and the back flow pressurises the fuel tank..which is a bonus.

That's my take on it but probably wrong LOL

my classic did this from new - until the fuel pump was removed to check for a fault;
it no longer makes the 'sucking' sound, but it doesn't seem to affect the running of the car.....
