USDM Glass in Europe???
I am trying to ship my 1999 RB5 back to the states. It is the GC8 chassis and it has an EJ205. I know that the DOD crash testing is completed for this chassis so no issues there, and I know that the EJ205 emissions testing is done.. no issues there. Problem is that the US didn't sell a car with this combination. I am trying to prepare it for transport. I know of only one thing that I have to chance, and that is the Glass. Does anyone know where I can get USDM windshield and rear glass for my 99 GC8?
Also, if there is anything else that I need to know about shipping this car to the states, that info would be greatly appreciated.

Easiest would be fit US DOT marked glass when you get there, froma breaker. Whether youll be able to register it with a 2.0l (rather obvious typo corrected) normally aspirated engine too, Im not so sure.
One further point JDM stands for Japanese Domestic Market. Domestic, as you know, means 'home' - the point of the acronym is that theyre Jap home market cars. USDM is an oxymoron - how can an export model manufactured by a Japanese car maker, NOT for its domestic market, be called so? I know that youll see it written all over, but its incorrect/contradictory/meaningless and the chimp journalists responsible are foolish.

Ok, my EJ205 is a 2.0L turbo. Not a 2.9L. USDM is correct, it means United states Domestic Market. In the context of me looking for USDM glass (approved glass for the united states made in the united states "domestic market") it is correct sir. Thanks for your input though.

No it is not correct. Its a stupid expression used by people who dont know what domestic means or understand the context in which it is used. Domestic market = home market and a Japanese manufacturer can only have one home market - their home market. JDM = Japanese domestic market:conversely the United States market is an export market, not their domestic market. Getting it yet?
